I have to say, i'm glad this week's almost over. If you don't want to read depressing stuff plz look away nao.

Alright well the news is that i sent away my ucas form last week to my 5 university choices (Edinburgh was the only one i reaaally wanted to go to but i had to pick 4 more, c'est la vie). I worked on it over the summer, wrote about 10 drafts of my personal statement, did my interview skills, got made French Debating captain, joined the languages choir... all the stuff that makes you look like a decent student basically. Came home from work on thursday night, already in a bad mood cos i was tired and my work is on the other side of the Coleraine mountains, went on to check my emails aaaaaand...

Edinburgh have turned me down.

Yep. The one uni that had the perfect course, that one of my best friends is already at, said no. I know i'm not the only one that this happens to and i'm probably coming across as an epic whiner at the minute, but we've all had times when we've been so disappointed that we don't want to even get up the next day, haven't we? This was mine, but sadly i had to get up cos i had schoolies. So anyways, i've been considering my options over the last couple of days and this is what i've come up with:

a) talk to the careers teacher and plead my case, see if i can get them to reconsider during Clearing;
b) forget option a and accept the offer from Portsmouth Unversity
c) wait and see if i get an offer from Aberdeen or St Andrew's or
d) forget all of those and just work a crappy low-paid job until i die.

The last one is of course a failed attempt at humour.
Sorry to be on such a downer. Time to go watch something funny methinks.
